Late Rally by Giants Secures 2-1 Win
|
The San Francisco Giants got a magnificent performance from pitcher Shane Baz, who muffled the Los Angeles offense en route to a tight 2-1 Giants win at Oracle Park. Andres Munoz earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record is now 11-2. Josh Hader picked up the save, his 46th.
San Francisco took a 2-1 lead on Matt Olson's 18th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Los Angeles pitcher Erik Swanson in the bottom of the eighth.
"Both teams played hard," said San Francisco manager Travis Smith.
The win for the Giants raised their record to 86-76.
