|
Kansas City left fielder Yordan Alvarez had a 3-RBI game, which helped his team beat the New York Yankees, 4-0. Jason Adam, 10-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. Their 87-73 record puts the Royals third in the American League Central Division.
Kansas City grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Alvarez, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 2019, hit a 3-run home run. His 21st home run of the season put the Royals out in front, 3-0.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Kansas City manager Nathan Feuerer.
