The Cincinnati Reds did just enough to sneak past the Cleveland Guardians, 4-3, at Progressive Field. Cincinnati pitcher Corbin Burnes, in particular, had a standout performance. Cincinnati reliever Matt Barnes picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Kyle Bradish absorbed the loss. The second-place Reds have won 4 in a row.
Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Corey Seager to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Reds on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
After the game, Cincinnati manager Colby Hubbard applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
