White Sox Trip Nationals, 5-4, in Extra Innings
|
The Chicago White Sox turned back the Washington Nationals, 5-4, at Nationals Park. Jose Ramirez, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Chicago has now won 4 in a row.
Chicago used a clutch hit from Max Kepler to get the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the White Sox ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Sometimes winning takes more than 27 outs," said White Sox manager Matt Hopkins.
