Royals Edge Past Astros, 3-2
|
Well, that's how to end a game in style.
The Houston Astros got a superb performance from pitcher Daulton Jefferies, but the Kansas City Royals still won the game, 3-2. Jefferies threw 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs. Kansas City reliever Jason Adam picked up the win, upping his record to 8-1. Stephen Nogosek was saddled with the loss.
The Royals procured the win, in large part because of first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr.. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"The game of baseball will test you," said Nathan Feuerer, the Kansas City skipper. "This one tested us."
The losses continue to mount for Houston, which has now dropped 6 in a row.
