The Minnesota Twins defeated the Chicago White Sox, 5-3, in American League action at Guaranteed Rate Field. Minnesota pitcher Ian Anderson had a standout performance. Carlos Estevez finished the game for Minnesota and earned his 26th save. Minnesota, now 67-81, holds down last place in the American League Central Division.

It could have been a different outcome for Minnesota, had it not been for Brett Baty, the 23-year old third baseman . Baty contributed a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Minnesota up, 5-3.

Baty called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
