Braves Win, 6-3, at Philadelphia
|
Atlanta picked up a win at Citizens Bank Park, bumping off the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-3. Pitcher Alex Wood was a major reason the Braves emerged victorious. Wood picked up the win for Atlanta, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 14-3. The National League East Division-leading Braves are 80-65.
Jake Meyers, the 27-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Meyers contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Atlanta up, 2-0.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Wood told the Atlanta Chronicle.
