Soler Hits 2 home runs in Blue Jays Win
|
The Toronto Blue Jays did just enough to sneak past the Texas Rangers, 8-7, at Rogers Centre. Toronto left fielder Jorge Soler, in particular, had a standout performance. Toronto reliever Noah Syndergaard picked up the win, upping his record to 4-8. Joey Lucchesi absorbed the loss. With the victory, the Blue Jays record now stands at 66-79.
In the bottom of the sixth, Toronto third baseman Nolan Arenado put his team on top. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 30th home run of the year. Texas pitcher Josh Sborz served it up. Just like that, the Blue Jays were ahead, 8-6.
"Good win for our guys," said Soler.
