Alonso Blasts White Sox, Rangers Take Game 3, 5-3
The Texas Rangers have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Chicago White Sox, winning 5-3 at Globe Life Field today. Rangers first baseman Pete Alonso went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The win cuts the deficit facing the Rangers to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Division Series.

The game was at a stalemate until catcher Kyle Higashioka came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Chicago pitcher Ryan Helsley, he hit a full count fastball for a 2-run double. It was a game-changer, putting Texas on top, 5-3.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Higashioka, "and then get after it again."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Globe Life Field in Arlington.
