Starting pitcher Ian Anderson gave the Minnesota Twins a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Boston Red Sox, 3-2, at Target Field. The winner in relief was Trevor Richards. He is now 1-4. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Earning his 6th save of the year was Carlos Estevez.

Bryce Harper, who led the NL in slugging percentage with .615 in 2021, aided the Minnesota cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk.

"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Anderson.

The Red Sox, now 12-21, continue their slow start.
