Thursday, May 16th , 2024
Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp left fielder Dustin Peterson sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little.

"During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber."
The big day from Peterson pushed the Jumbo Shrimp past the Sounds, 8-1. To go along with the homers, he collected 3 RBIs and scored 3 runs.
"I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Peterson told reporters after the game.
Dustin Peterson hit a solo-shot off Jackson Jobe in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Jim Unknown in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
