The New York Yankees wiggled past the San Francisco Giants, 2-1, in 10 innings at Oracle Park. The win was highlighted by the performance of New York pitcher Chris Sale. Isaiah Campbell, credited with the save, is now 17 for 18 in save opportunities. The Yankees now have a record of 28-33 with the win over San Francisco.
Sale was in the zone, shutting down San Francisco hitters over 6.1 innings. Sale, who threw 97 pitches, allowed no runs on 2 hits. He also tallied 10 punchouts.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Shawn Kineast.
