With 6-3 Win, Braves Go to 28-25
|
Atlanta left fielder Chas McCormick played a vital role in his team's 6-3 conquest of Washington. He went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Atlanta. Alex Wood, 1-3, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. The save went to Kenley Jansen, his 13th this season.
McCormick had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-2 slider from Matt Krook, he banged a grand slam home run to left, giving the Braves a 5-3 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for McCormick.
"It's nice to deliver when your team's counting on you," said McCormick.
With the win, Atlanta upped its record to 28-25.
