Rangers Outdo Angels in Extra Innings
|
The Texas Rangers picked up a win at Globe Life Field, knocking off the Los Angeles Angels, 3-2, in 10 innings. On the mound for Texas was right-hander Jon Gray. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. The win was credited to 29-year old right-handed pitcher David Bednar in relief. His record improves to 1-5. Edwin Uceta took the loss. Today's win puts Texas at 26-21, while Los Angeles falls to 27-19.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Texas. That's when 29-year old center fielder Andrew Stevenson hit a run-scoring double off Edwin Uceta to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"This place sure got loud," said Mark Karpinski, the Texas manager.
