Mets Trip Phillies, 8-6, in Extra Innings
|
The New York Mets knocked off the Philadelphia Phillies, 8-6, at Citizens Bank Park. It took 10 innings. Trea Turner was a prime reason New York won. The shortstop went 4-6 with 4 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win for the Mets raised their record to 25-20.
The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Turner delivered big-time for New York, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Shawn Armstrong. The game-changing hit put the Mets on top, 8-6.
"Our team found a way to get it done," said Turner.
