Brewers Drop Contest, 2-0, to Pittsburgh
|
American Family Field hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
In a tight affair between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Milwaukee Brewers, pitcher Jacob deGrom was in the zone. The Pittsburgh right-hander helped his team win the game, 2-0. Ronel Blanco picked up the save for Pittsburgh, his 2nd of the year.
Pittsburgh used a clutch at-bat from Corey Seager to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Pirates ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Seager said.
The Pirates, at 22-22, inhabit second place in the National League Central Division.
