Brewers Throttle Cardinals, 7-0
|
With Bobby Dalbec leading the charge, the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the St. Louis Cardinals, 7-0. Dalbec went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Brewers. Kutter Crawford picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-4. Zack Wheeler, who finished 5th in the NL in ERA with 2.78 in 2021, was tagged with the loss. Milwaukee is now 16-25, St. Louis 21-20.
The Brewers ran into trouble in the top of the second. The score was 1-0, Milwaukee, with one out. St. Louis, with runners on 1st and 2nd, had Eddie Rosario at the plate. With a base hit, he could have changed the complexion of the game. Instead, he grounded out and the Brewers went on to win.
