Washington Drops Another One, 7-2
|
The 2024 season is getting uglier for Washington.
The Baltimore Orioles topped the Washington Nationals by a score of 7-2. Leading the way was first baseman Joey Gallo. Gallo went 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Orioles. Carlos Rodón, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 3 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 10. His record now stands at 3-2.
Gallo had a key at-bat for Baltimore in the top of the first. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season and gave Baltimore an early 2-0 lead.
"We haven't been playing to the level we want to play," said Washington manager David Taylor.
Washington's current losing streak is now 10 games.
