Rangers Win, Stevenson 3-for-5
|
The Texas Rangers stopped the Washington Nationals, 7-5, behind an impressive performance from Andrew Stevenson. The 29-year old center fielder made life miserable for Washington pitching. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. Kodai Senga picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 3-3. Washington falls to 7-24.
Making an impact for the home team was Kolten Wong. In the bottom of the first, the two-time Great Glove Award winner had a run-scoring ground out. That made the score 1-0, Rangers.
"We're not exactly playing great right now," said David Taylor, the Washington manager.
